ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL VOCAL COACHES OF THE LAST CENTURY…
Having an impressive career of his own, Maestro Kyle left a deep legacy by training many prominent rock singers such as Chris Cornell from Audioslave and Soundgarden, Geoff Tate from queensrÿche, Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, and Robert Lunte from The Vocalist Studio.
In the video above, Robert Lunte takes us to Alki Beach (West side of Seattle) and gives us a special look at the house where Maestro Kyle trained him for 12 years. Notably, Robert shares the historic importance of the house’s living room window, which Maestro Kyle used to encourage his students to let go of their fears and “sing to the bay”. Although Maestro Kyle was not the only influence for the creation of The Four Pillars of Singing, His influence on Robert Lunte’s vocal and teaching style is reflected vividly on many of the exercises and techniques taught in The Four Pillars of Singing.
On this tour, we also take a brief drive through the streets of Seattle, driving by iconic city gems such as The Crocodile (One of Seattle’s most legendary venues). Furthermore, Robert takes the opportunity to tell us more personal stories; some of which include the time he and Maestro Kyle first spoke, when they met, Robert’s early days as a vocalist, and even Robert’s interest in astronomy.
